AdventureBus roams around from National Park to National Park bringing its passengers on a memorable vacation journey. Built on the WordPress platform, this custom theme aggregates various types of information including: a blog, trip info and twitter feeds. Once a customer signs up for an AdventureBus trip, they are given a custom page to share with their friends to encourage them to join the tour. Visit the site

Fundraising effectiveness, issue awareness, board member involvement, and website traffic all increase when your content quality increases. And don’t even get us started on organizations that expect Twitter followers to just materialize out of thin air without engaging content to attract them! Creating web content that is captivating to users while remaining search engine friendly is the toughest job on the web. Let us walk you through how to approach the content creation process, starting with identifying an appropriate medium-be it Twitter, Tumblr, Google+, Facebook, email, or your website-and then designing content that works well with that medium.

Across the board, we saw lots of promising work. Remember that learning to design and develop for the web is not a skill that can be learned overnight—or in 8 weeks, for that matter. Hopefully you each have a solid foundation to build upon as you progress in the field, but remember that the web is constantly changing, so be prepared to adapt.

I know some of you expressed interest in a “level 2″ course that dives into some of the more exciting things about web design: javascript, content management system themes, etc. We have suggested it to the college and will let you know if/when we get permission to teach it.
